As January unfolds, it offers a fresh start and a chance to refocus on what truly matters.


After the Christmas rush, you might feel like you need a reset. This month is all about rejuvenation and self-discovery.


Here’s a selection of fun activities that every woman should consider to honour herself and unleash her inner queen.


1. Attend a Local Workshop


Why not dive into something new this January? Local workshops promise enriching experiences where you can learn skills ranging from pottery to self-defense. These settings not only help you acquire a new talent, but they also provide a community of like-minded women.


For instance, if you prefer something a little more alternative, such as Reiki or something else along the spiritual lines, you could learn a new skill while making new friends. Many workshops offer beginner levels, ensuring everyone can join in, no matter their skill set.


2. Try a New Exercise Class


Reignite your fitness journey by trying an exercise class this month. January is a prime time for gyms to provide fantastic introductory deals. Look for classes in your area like Zumba (one of the few classes I enjoy) kickboxing, or even modern dance.


If you enjoy working out, switching up your routine can reignite your passion. Studies show that novelty in workouts can improve motivation by up to 30%. Plus, you might meet other women who share your fitness goals and aspirations.


3. Plan a Cosy Book Club Night

Choose a theme—maybe books by women authors, captivating memoirs, lifestyle or self help books. Set up a warm atmosphere with comfy blankets and tasty snacks like homemade brownies or popcorn. If you prefer, join an online book club. You still enjoy the accountability to pick up that book and read a chapter, but you can do it at a time that suits you.


4. Explore Nature


Reconnecting with nature is a wonderful way to recharge. Wrap up and take a walk through a local park. Winter landscapes offer unique beauty, allowing you to appreciate the quiet calm of nature.

My favourite local Spa is Ye Olde Bell**, I ve booked again for my Birthday and I'm looking forward to it.


If a spa visit isn't feasible, organize a DIY spa day at home. Light some scented candles, prepare a warm bath, and indulge in relaxation. Taking time for yourself helps to set a positive foundation for the year ahead.


8. Cook Something New


Revitalise your culinary skills this month by trying out a new recipe. January is perfect for experimentation. Select a cuisine you love or one you've been curious about.


Invite friends to enjoy your creations or keep it as a personal cooking adventure. Whether you attempt a spicy Thai curry or bake a classic French dish, cooking can be both fun and rewarding. Plus, sharing food builds connections and enriches relationships.



9. Explore Your City


Take a break from your routine by being a tourist in your own city. Explore local museums, art galleries, or hidden cafés.

Whether it's the latest release or an indie gem, the excitement of seeing a film on the big screen is a great experience. I've booked to see Nosfaratu. You can't beat a good horror film.


January invites you to embrace new opportunities while nurturing your interests. It can also be dark and depressing. So engage in activities that uplift your spirit and encourage growth, allowing you to step into the new year as the queen you are meant to be.
