Time For A Change In Your Home? Here's Some Fantastic Ideas

I really want to change things around my home.

After the last year, there a lot of bad memories. I just feel like changing things around, colours and furnishings, would make me feel better.

There are a number of reasons that people decide to change around their home, whatever the reason, it’s a fantastic idea! Sometimes, this is just what you need to enjoy your home a little more. This is important because you should love the place that you live, especially if like many, you have found yourself working from home more.

You definiltly need to put your own stamp on a place. It needs to feel like yours, so I've got some fantastic ideas for how you can update it.

Change The Kitchen

First, let’s take a look at the kitchen. Is yours dated? Does it need an upgrade? If so, then it’s time to get right on this. Mine has been in for over 10 years now, whilst it's still modern, it's starting to look a bit tired. The good news is that you don't have to completely renovate the entire kitchen for it to feel new or look fantastic. If you're on a budget, you can just change the cupboard fronts and get a few new accessories, making it look better already.

Changing the work surfaces might be another thing to consider, and depending on how much you’re looking to spend, it doesn’t have to be expensive. Those are just some of the more simple things that you can do if you don’t want to rip out the entire kitchen.

Of course, if you do want to rip it out and have something completely new, make sure you do your research. Look at different companies, different styles, cost, and so on and don’t forget about the installation fee that you will have to pay on top of the cost of the kitchen.

A Simple Color Change

A simple color change could be exactly what you need. It’s not major work, it doesn’t take long, and it can always be changed if you don't like the end result. Having said all that, though, it can make a huge difference. For example, if you’ve got a dark colour, try something bright or white to make it feel more spacious.

Just Make It Comfortable

It might be the case that your home just doesn’t really feel that cosy and comfortable, and that would be a huge shame. Home is where you should feel most safe and happy. If you’re not comfortable in the home, this isn’t going to be the case. Think about all the things that would make the space feel more homely to you. Maybe some new low modern sofas ? Or, add some candles to the rooms or soft lighting. Do what works for you.

Make a list, and then get to work on it. You don't have to do it all at once - that could end up being quite expensive. You will though feel much better once those personal touches are complete.

Carpet The Floors?

If you have a carpet it may not be as hardwearing as hardwood or laminate flooring but carpet isn’t that difficult to look after if you’ve got some carpet cleaner on hand in your cupboard. Carpet can also make your home feel warmer and cosier too.

Decorate The Walls

What do the walls in your home look like right now? Are they bare? If so, you could fill them up with things that make you happy? If you like art, then have some hanging up there, or maybe a positive quote. Photos of your family and friends are also great to have up on the wall to remind you of happy times and those that you love.

You could also fill it with memories. For example, if you love to travel, then try to pick up something to put on the wall from the places that you visit. Or, you could even put a map up and pin all of the places that you have been to. Get different color pins and then pin the places that you want to go. It’s a great project for you, and it gives you something to look forward to!

Good luck filling your home with love and cosiness.
