Too soon? Probably, but in the world of interiors, talk has already turned to the festive dinner table.

The good news, for Scandi lovers like myself is that this year the trend is set to be adding some Bohemian Scandi-style to your entertaining this festive season.

Arabesque tableware from Sthål ceramics should be finding a place at your table. Food stylists and designers, Sthål's founders Susanna Theander and Helena Åkesson-Liedber know how to make food look good and their Arabesque range of tableware combines their Scandinavian roots with their love of the rich and exotic.

The key to setting the scene this festive season is simplicity and taking inspiration from nature...

A scattering of pine needles and cones along with platters piled generously with jewel-like fruits and nuts of the season are all that's needed to transform your contemporary Scandi style furnishings and achieve a naturally rich and opulent look that's perfect for winter entertaining.

Sthål's rich dark colourways of Fig and Thunder provide an unexpected and dramatic backdrop that highlights the natural colours of the season. Sthål's Arabesque collection of tableware has been designed to mix & match to create your own colour combinations that allow you choose whether to stick with one hue or experiment with your own colour combinations.

You don't need to re-create a whole Christmas tree out of your china (you can if you want!) - but for a table decoration that really is good enough to eat simply pile a dark platter with seasonal jewel-coloured fruits to create a simple yet stunning focal point.

Alternatively, choose fruits and nuts that tone with your ceramics for a more natural, monochrome look.

An oversized bowl in mottled shades of green will show off the zesty colours of citrus fruit - you can always mix in some glass baubles to up the festive ante!

Add a few pine cones and needles, or even a single ivy leaf to each place setting to subtly set the scene for your seasonal entertaining.

Above all - have fun with your table setting!

All pieces are manufactured in glazed white stoneware clay fired to very high temperatures which makes them highly durable.

All items are oven, dishwasher and microwave safe.

Retail prices from £8.00 for the dip bowls to £100.00 for the large serving bowls.
