Food: How to eat fast food that isn't fat food

I don't know about you but as we get into the Autumn I start craving warm comfort food.

If you find that lack of time prevents you from eating healthily and the easiest thing is to grab a takeaway or ready meal then I've got a few hacks to help you stay on track.

Having a 'go to' collection of speedy meals to turn to in a rush will also take away the dilemma of 'What am I going to eat?!'

Ingredients

Keep some ready-to-go ingredients in the fridge and cupboards that you can throw together in a hurry. Think prepared veggies, tinned beans, frozen fish as well as herbs, spices, sauces and oils

Batch Cooking

Make it a weekly habit so that at the same time each week you prepare meals, or at least some of the components. That way you'll have instant healthy meals to turn to.

Leftovers

If you would rather cook across the week, make extra so you have leftovers for the next day.

Equipment

There is lots of timesaving equipment available for the kitchen nowadays such as blenders, food processors and even thermomixers that do a lot of the work for you for easy prep and speed. Plus there's also microwavable rice and other options.

What are your 'go to' options when you want to eat healthily but fast?
