Beauty Review: Wake Eye Gel

Disclaimer - Gifted item

On paper I'm probably the perfect candidate for eye gel.

I go to bed far too late, and sometimes I'm not the greatest sleeper. Tell a lie, I am, just not at the right time. Mid afternoon I could do with a nap (I prefer to call it power nap rather than granny nap) sometimes I'm struggling to keep my eyes open, made worse by staring at a computer screen all day.

The result is tired eyes and dark circles. Can an eye gel help? I'm always keen to find out, which is why I agreed to try Wake Eye Gel.

The Gel claims to:

  • Combats dark circles that result from late nights and early starts;

  • Hydrates your skin after spending long periods looking at screens;

  • Contains vitamins and antioxidants to reduce signs of premature ageing;

  • Protects the environment by using glass bottles to reduce plastic waste;

  • All ingredients have been carefully selected in order to create the best eye gel to get rid of dark circles under eyes.

Sounds perfect right?

Why? Well as we age our skin gradually loses elasticity because we produce less and less collagen. This causes fine lines and under eye bags to be more prominent. It is also is why Wake Eye Gel is collagen based, to give your skin supplementary collagen. Launched in 2017, the Gel was designed and has been recognised as one of the world’s best eye gels for under eye bags.

This does mean that to achieve effective long-term results you need to continue to apply the product every day. It's not a one-use wonder. Think of it as a constant top up of collagen to help boost your skin’s elasticity, reduce dark circles and calm down puffiness..

How to use

For best results you need, as always, to apply the gel to a clean face morning and night. Press a small amount of gel onto your fingertips and gently massage under eyes.

Packaging

I love the minimal packaging. The bottle has a simple design – just a white pump-style bottle with the name on it. It is really easy to use, just pump a small amount of the clear gel product onto your fingertips. it is recommended you rub your fingertips together and massage around the eyes. I always tap gently so as not to stretch the thin skin around the eye socket.

You need to wait until the product has completely been absorbed into the skin before applying anything else, like a finishing moisturiser. I could feel the gel get a little tacky around my eyes before it completely absorbed. You get 30ml in a bottle, which is a lot more than many other under eye serums!

You need to store the bottle in a cool, dry place. The company recommend actually storing in a refrigerator.

What does this eye gel feel like?

Always do a patch test when trying any new product. I have seen some reviews that said they experienced tingling, but it's not something I personally experienced. It actually felt quite gentle on my skin and it doesn't appear to have any overpowering or synthetic scent either.

Does it work?

I’ve been using the gel for about a month now and I do feel like there has been some improvement in my eye area. Not drastically, but I think I'd need to give it a little longer to fully know but I will definitely keep using it.

Keep an eye on my posts to find out.

Love Tx
